Is your cat as curious as mine? He is observing what happens outside, if the wind blows a leaf in the air, a passenger walks by, a bird sitting in the tree… nothing will disrupt his attention while he is sitting behind the window.

This textured toe-up sock is written for 60, 64 and 68 sts, with a heel using german short rows and a gusset to give more ease. To make the look of the sock more interesting, there is an easy to memorise textured pattern all over the sock except for the part with the cat. The gusset is worked in reverse stockinette stitch, which helps to keep track of the heel if you are knitting this kind of U-shaped heel for the first time.

After completing both socks, the cat is surrounded by a contrasting yarn in surface crochet and the tail is made of chain stitches.

The socks will look good with solid, semi-solid yarn or gradient yarn or a tonal variegated yarn as in my second sample in darker blue.

The instructions are fully written.
For chart-lovers, they are charts for the toe, the foot, the leg and the ribbing.

You will have 2 options for knitting the toe and the ribbing.
