This tomte hat is worked in the round starting from the bottom of the hat and worked up. It is a small project and knits up fast. Felting is completed in a top loading washing machine. The finished felted hat is about 16” tall (before curling top) with a 2.5” base.

YARN
Blue Sky Alpaca Sport Weight 100% Baby Alpaca (50 g/110 yds) Red 511; 1 skein (about 35 g/80 yards is needed for 1 hat) or similar sport weight yarn created from wool or other animal fibers. Do not use superwash yarn.
