This pattern is for a pair of lace socks. The lace itself is an Aran lace that is just perfect for socks, that comes to us from the Ireland. There’s enough “give” to make them comfortable: they will hug your ankle/leg without being too tight. There is an unusual lace work to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit. The back and front are the same until the heel flap.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting, and experience with sock knitting.

The lace stitch is both charted and written out. If you are using the written section, it is always wise that you have a working knowledge of the chart.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge (if you want to adjust your size from M, be sure to adjust your yarn so it matches your new needle size). Most women wear socks in size M (shoe size 6 - 9)
