Toner Tam
Needle size: For Rib 3.25 -3.5mm / 3-4 US / 9—10 UK. For crown of beret 4mm / 6 US / 8 UK. Easy to knit on circular needles with a back seam, but can also be worked on straight needles.
Tension Gauge is most important on the rib to ensure a good fit, as the beret part is baggy. It may also stretch with use, so don’t go too large. Made with 1 x 1 rib, bottom up, one seam top to bottom, pulling a thread through to cast off, no tail extension, nice and flat.
Designed to fit a largish head or average with thicker hair (22.5-23.5 inches around).
To change size, just reduce needles to smallest suggested or reduce stitches in multiples of 3 for a small then a child’s version.
