I love decorating for seasons and holidays, and with March approaching, I wanted to design something for St. Patrick’s Day. I designed this shamrock pattern which can be used for any project you’d like, but I chose to create a table runner for my dining table and enjoy decorating with it through the whole month of March.
This pattern includes two charts for the two variations of shamrock, along with instructions for creating the table runner shown in the pattern. I hope to make some throw pillows soon with this as well. I hope you enjoy creating with it!

This pattern is done in overlay mosaic style. If you are new to mosaic crochet, there are many wonderful tutorials on YouTube that can help you familiarize yourself with the technique. Any confident advanced beginner to intermediate crochet enthusiast can pick this up quickly! The basic stitches required are chain, slip stitches, single and double crochets.

This pattern can be used for any size or project you’d like, but it does include instructions for the table runner approximately 15”x48” as pictured. Of course, these charts/patterns are easily adjusted to any width if you choose to add repeats.

The pattern is a downloadable PDF file containing several pages of detailed written instructions, pictures, and charts that outline the process, as well as some links to tutorials that are very helpful to learn the overlay mosaic technique. This pattern includes both shamrock variations that are used in the table runner, as well as some ideas of how to combine them in different layouts.

Between 700-1000 yards of worsted weight yarn (approximately 350-500 yards of each color) were used for the project. If you choose to add a border or make a different length, you can adjust yarn amount needed.
