ꕺ DESCRIPTION

The Alice Top is a summer pattern with negative ease, designed to fit your body shape and preferences. It is knitted bottom-up in the round with a false button band on the front. The back and front are worked back and forth.

The model shown is a size A (hips/waist) - H (bust/waist) and measures 47 cm in height. The chosen armhole measures 25 cm.

ꕺ PATTERN INFORMATION

The PDF contains 12 pages (including the cover page) with diagrams, tables, and charts to help you reproduce the top. You will also find links in the glossary to explanatory videos.

The pattern includes instructions on how to take your measurements and choose the right size for your top.

ꕺ GAUGE AND YARN

I used a sport weight yarn (333m/100g) and used 150g for my top.

I knitted the gauge in 2/1 rib:
24 stitches x 27 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm

I used 3.5 mm needles, but you can use any size that helps you achieve the gauge.

ꕺ TECHNIQUES USED

To create this top, I used various techniques:

  • Tubular cast-on and bind-off
  • List item M1 increases (Make 1)
  • Left-leaning and right-leaning decreases
  • Grafting (Kitchener Stitch)
  • German Short Rows
  • 2/1 Ribbing
