Top-Down 4ply Jacket
Level of Difficulty - Beginner
This easy to knit garment is suitable for adventurous beginner knitters. Made entirely in garter stitch, this sweet little jacket is knitted from the neck down, with the collar and bands added at the end.
The shaping of the yoke takes place with increases on either side of what would otherwise be the raglan shoulder seams. While this method eliminates the sewing of the shoulder seams, the sleeve seams will still need to be sewn. For those wishing to totally eliminate sewing, the sleeves could be worked in the round from armhole to cuff, alternating knit and purl rounds to maintain the garter stitch pattern. The length of the sleeves and body of the garment can easily be adjusted to suit - just work more or fewer rows as required, however this may require more yarn.
