The Top Down Ana Beanie is a version of the Ana Beanie that is made from the top down instead of brim up like the original. The original Ana Beanie pattern is full of textures and beautiful stitches. Which is why I love that pattern. But there are times when you need to work up a beautiful hat more quickly. And the Top Down version is just the way to do that.

You get some of the same textures and look as the original Ana Beanie! It still uses the same hook a H 5.0mm and worsted weight yarn. This pattern is for the adult size.

You will notice that it uses less stitches than the original and that is because with top down beanies, you get more stretch at the bottom. It doesn’t have the brim to secure it. So, you want it more fitted as yarn/stitches will stretch over time.
