This is our basic “go-to” pattern for top-down socks on the Magic Loop. You’ll find clear descriptions of Magic Loop technique and a good basic sock pattern. A good starting place! Directions are included for three weights of yarn - fingering, DK, and Worsted.

Finished Size - This pattern will make a Women’s sock (to fit 8-9” foot circumference) in your choice of fingering, DK, or worsted weight yarn.

Note: Numbers for fingering weight yarn are shown first, with numbers for DK and worsted weight inside parentheses.

Yarn: Fingering – approx. 375-420 yds fingering weight yarn
DK – approx. 300-350 yards DK weight yarn
Worsted – approx. 250-300 yards worsted weight yarn
Needles: 32”-40” circular needle in size 2US (3US, 5US) or 2.75mm (3.5mm, 3.75mm) OR size needed to obtain correct gauge.

Gauge: Fingering – 8 sts= 1”
DK - 6 sts= 1”
Worsted - 5sts= 1”
