Top down shawl
This simple one-skein shawl uses 100g of 4ply sock yarn. Originally designed as “next steps in crochet” pattern for a workshop, I have decided to release it as a free pattern for all. Using UK terminology, I wanted to design a simple and repetitive pattern using one of the many beautiful self-striping sock yarns available on the market. It uses approximately 100g (400m) of any 4ply sock yarn and can be adapted to use as much (or as little) as you wish.
This particular pattern starts at the top of the shawl (in the middle) and works outwards, creating a right-angled triangle measuring 43” x 20” approx. The pattern also includes instructions for an alternative, shallower shawl measuring 70” x 13” if you prefer a longer, slimmer scarf-type variation.
