Top Down Tote
Use one strand of #2 yarn plus 1 strand of something strong and much thinner than the main yarn. For the sample I used Yeoman Cashmilon in yellow as the main yarn and a strand of strong green 2/24 acrylic as the second yarn. 1/2 a cone of the main yarn will suffice for all sizes. Only a couple of ounces of 2/24 are needed. Make this on a Brother or Singer/Studio/Silver Reed standard gauge machine. The sample was made on a Brother in thread lace settings. A very close but not identical version may be made on a Singer/Studio/Silver Reed hereafter known as SSS in the pattern machine using punch lace settings. Thread and punch lace are very close in effect. It is possible that other machines besides Brother and SSS have thread lace type settings and if yours does, the pattern should work for you. Gauge is not critical but should be about 7 stitches/10 rows/inch in stockinette at about stitch size 7 on the dial.
