Top Notch Baby Cardigan and booties
This whimsical cardigan is knitted side to side and embellished with an easy diagonal lace pattern that creates a chevron on the back. With simple matching booties, it will help you create the perfect gift for a little one in your life!
The body of the cardigan is knitted in one piece and the sleeves are knitted separately and then set in. The booties are knitted flat on two needles and seamed.
From now until September 1, 2010, the pattern is available exclusively through the Fibrespace “Bundles of Joy” club. You may purchase all four months of the club or just the month of May from fibre space. The package includes the pattern, one hank of Dijinni Sock Phat skein (580 yards) and six horn buttons.
A note to knitters: because the garment is knit side to side, row gauge and row counts are critical in the pattern - be sure to change needle size if row gauge is not achieved.
PLEASE NOTE: ERRATA:
There was a typo in the sleeve instructions for sizes 3 and 4 only. After the seed stitch cuff, the instructions for the sleeve should read:
Increase row (RS): K1, m1, work in Pattern St to last 2 sts, m1, k1.
Work 5 (5, 5, 5, 7) rows even in Pattern St.
Repeat these last 5 (6, 6, 6, 8) rows 5 (6, 7, 8, 6) times – 12 (14, 16, 18, 14) sts increased total. 48 (50, 52, 54, 56) sts on needle.
I apologize for the inconvenience!
