There are two different beanie patterns here. Both are worked top down, in the round, in spiral fashion without joining rounds.

One pattern is a basic half double crochet beanie with front/back post double crochet ribbing, and emulates the look of the basic knitted pattern that’s printed on the ball band. Instructions for attaching the Topper are also printed on the ball band.

And there is also an alternate pattern in three sizes, worked in Moss Stitch (ch 1, sc in the ch-sp), without any ribbing. The Toddler size renders a hat about 16” in circumference and requires about 70 yds. The Child size is about 17” in circumference, and requires about 79 yds. And the Teen size is about 19” in circumference, and requires the entire ball of Top This! Hat height can be easily adjusted.

This pattern is offered free of charge, but please honor my copyright and do not claim it as your own. Consider using this pattern to make some hats for your favorite charity, and adorn them with crazy chain pompoms, or curly-Qs for a dash of fun.

Errata:
For some reason I call for a “K hook” in the pattern, but used a “J hook” for my samples. I hope that doesn’t cause confusion… Choose whichever hook size works best with your yarn, and pay attention to your crown circle diameter to know best when to stop increasing for the desired hat size.
