Topdown lace beanie
With just one skein of this beautifully heather colored wool I figured I could make a beanie. But what if it wasn’t enough? According to the label it only measured 79 m / 87 yd.
I decided to design a pattern knitting top down. That way I could see how far I would get. To gain length I used a nice swirling lace pattern. It worked out perfectly and guess what: I even have a tiny ball left.
The hat is for an average size head. It’s loose and stretches and will fit many sizes. The height of the hat is 8.3 inch / 21 cm, the circumference when laid down flat is 19.7 inch / 50 cm.
What you need is four double pointed knitting needles number 6 (US 10) and 87 yd / 79 m of yarn.
The pattern is available in English and in Dutch.
