Topo Gigio Shawl - Any Yarn
This triangular garter stitch shawl is as cozy and warm as it is easy to make! Constructed top-down in simple garter stitch, it ends with a pretty eyelet and picot trim that transforms it into a classic that will be loved for years to come.
The pattern is written to work with any size yarn. However, it will work best in a worsted to bulky weight with good drape.
Because you will knit it to whatever size you wish, yardage given is just a suggestion. How much you need for the trim depends on how big or small you make your shawl.
Stitches Used:
knit (K), yarn over (YO), knit 2 together (K2tog), and CO/BO in mid-row
Materials:
- worsted to bulky weight yarn, about 350 – 1200 yards (averaging about 600 – 800 yards) – you will need approximately 25% of this in a contrasting color for the trim
- size US 6 – 8 (4.00 – 5.00mm) needles, or size recommended on your yarn label
NOTE: This pattern was written by WeeSandy, for an unwritten design made by Testarda. The same pattern is for sale in both our shops – please don’t buy it from both of us, or you’ll end up with a duplicate!
