Topsy Turvy
Unlike most of the hats I’ve knit, this one starts at the top–and it’s reversible! As I was knitting, I was reminded of the Topsy Turvy dolls I had as a child, with Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother on either side of a ginormous skirt. I never quite understood the dolls: since the two characters can never interact with each other they didn’t seem like the most versatile toys.
This hat, however, is quite versatile. You can wear either side as the “right” side, and either turn up a few inches for a cuff to show a peak at the inside or wear it as a slouchy hat. It’s easy to add or subtract length to make it exactly the right size for you… but it does share a bit of that Topsy Turvy quality!
Pattern includes both charted and written out instructions.
