A universal, basic hat pattern! This is the hat pattern The Knit Café uses for our “learn to knit hats class”. It is a simple toque meant to suit one and all in a plethora of sizes and also for three different sizes of yarn. You can knit your hat in worsted weight, aran/chunky weight, or super bulky weight. There are notes in the pattern how to customize your hat to suit your preferences.
This hat is knit in rounds so there are no seams. It has a ribbed brim and a stocking stitch cap. Pompoms are optional, and by following our pompom tutorial you can make one of those too. Ready, set, go make that hat!
