This is a listing for a pattern for a lace shawl. It is knitted in the manner that many of the traditional Shetland lace shawls were knitted. This one is knitted with a fingering weight yarn (not a lace weight yarn). The side panels are “true” laces, The focal stitch is a more familiar lace stitch. There are two distinct lace stitches contained within this pattern, both of which blend together nicely. The shawl was knitted in a single piece, and is, therefore, seamless.

Skill Level: Intermediate + (assuming a very good knowledge of lace knitting).

The pattern for the stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged. (This is the ONLY crochet in the pattern: the Optional Edging.)
