This bulky weight ‘Eclipse Cowl’ uses a combination of different sized, right and left leaning cable crosses. The cable stitches come together to form a circular design that I think resembles an eclipse. The cowl is knit in the round and creates a long tube. You will seam both the cast on and bind off edges together at the end. As a result, you end up with a double-layered fabric that is extra squishy and cozy.
I have written this pattern using a provisional cast on and a kitchener stitch for closing the seam at the end. I have included links to video tutorials for both techniques. Along with written instructions for this pattern, I have included a chart to follow as well, depending on your preference.
If you are unfamiliar with provisional cast ons and the kitchener stitch, I have added instructions on how to make the cowl without using those skills.
