This 15” x 12” tote bag is made using the Martha Stewart loom set.

For added strength, it is knit using 3 strands of yarn as one. The purple bag in the picture was knit using Red Heart Super Saver yarn: 1 strand of Orchid, 1 strand of Lavender, and 1 strand of Monet. The bag requires approximately 225 yards of each color.

The yellow bag was knit using just 2 strands of Red Heart with Love in Cornsilk for the sides. I added a 3rd strand of Loops & Threads Cozy Wool for the bottom and handles.

The bottom of the bag is oval and is woven. The sides of the tote are knit using my favorite stitch: the Rivulet Stitch. It makes a nice mesh bag great for your looms and knitting projects. You can even use this as a “yarn” bag, threading your yarn out through one of the holes in the bag to keep the ball of yarn from rolling around on the floor while you’re knitting. :)

For a preview of how easy the Rivulet Stitch is to master, go watch my YouTube video that demonstrates the technique used to create this beautiful and easy stitch: https://youtu.be/H4qPW6HUHFE

Everything is loom knit. There are no seams to sew. (Yay!)

This pattern includes a photo tutorial of the rivulet stitch and photos of how to weave the bottom.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter, or an advanced beginner who is ready to take on a new challenge.
