This is the second pattern from the Totelly Tote series. The first one is Totelly Tote 1. No, I did not make a mistake naming the pattern! You might already know that from the first pattern in the series. I came up with this playful word,”Totelly”. Suits a tote bag, right?

The bag is worked in rounds, in mosaic knitting, in stockinette stitch. The size is adjustable. The charts are also given in reversed colours for ease of use in case you decide to swap the light and dark colours in your bag. The mosaic pattern is charted and written out.
There are several options for making a bag: two variations of mosaic pattern to choose from, two yarn weights (DK or Aran / Heavy Worsted), two sizes, and two options for working the bottom. Use two colours or more, all is up to you!

The sample in the light gray background was made in Aran / Worsted / 10 ply recycled cotton yarn, Knitting Essentials Natura Cotton. Several fingering weight leftover yarns held in double were used for contrasting colours. Chart 2 was used for knitting the bag.

The sample in the dark blue background was made in DK / 8 ply cotton yarn, Patons 100% Cotton DK, colourway Navy #2124, and Sirdar Cotton Prints DK, colourway Summer Meadow #2121. Chart 1 was used for knitting the bag.

Different yarn weights and fibres can be used but this affects the size of the bag and the amount of yarn needed.

DK / 8 ply
100 gr / 3.5 oz = 210 m / 230 yards.
MC 100(125) g / 3.5(4.4) oz = 210(263) m / 230(288) yards
CC 70(95) g / 2.5(3.4) oz = 147(200) m / 161(219) yards
