The name for this tank comes from the lovely Toyon bush which is native to my Northern
California home. In the winter the lush clusters of bright red berries provide much needed
food for many birds. Its branches and leaves produce a lovely dye which you can see here on
this worsted weight yarn. You need not dye your own yarn to make this tank, simply replace it
with the color of your choice in any worsted weight yarn which gives you the same gauge. I’ve
also made the same tank in a pink yarn with white stripes just for fun. The dark yellow tank is
shown in Large and the pink one is shows in Small, both with 2 inches of positive ease.

Notes: This tank is worked from the ribbing up. It is split at the arm holes and a few stitches
are bound off to form the arm holes. Then the front and back are knitted separately. The straps
are then stitched together to finish the piece.
