Two styles, one pattern. Each easily modified for length.
Fire: A worsted weight, full length scarf, worked with a looser stitching lacy effect.
Ice: A chunky weight, double-wrap cowl with tighter stitching.
US and Metric measurements.
Charted pattern.
Intermediate Skill Level: Provisional CO (crochet) Twisted stitches (k/ptbl), wraps (smocking), and lace stitches in a lovely mirrored and book matched design.
Worked flat, center out, from a provisional CO.
Piece requires blocking.

Fire (light worsted/long version)
Aprox. 400 yds (365 m) Light Worsted Yarn
~ Sample shown used 370 yds (340 m) Malabrigo Rios in Glazed Carrot
US 10 (6 mm) Needles ~ or size that gets gauge
Ice (chunky/double-wrap cowl version)
Aprox. 240 yds (220 m) Chunky Yarn
~ Sample shown used 220 yds (201 m) Malabrigo Chunky Polar Morn (ALL of 2 hanks)
US 10.5 (6.5 mm) Needles ~ or size that gets gauge
1 shank (or toggle) button aprox. 3/4” (2 cm)

Gauge is not critical to either project, but will affect size and yardage requirements.
