About this Design
Our journey through life takes many forms—some paths are smooth and straight, while others are rough and bumpy; each experience enriches our physical, mental, and emotional growth. These hiking socks have been designed to celebrate the diversity of our life pathways.

At times, our direction is clear, and we walk alongside friends, family, and colleagues. The triple tracks of the 1x1 rib symbolise these shared journeys. There are moments when the road ahead becomes unpredictable, calling us to venture alone. The decorative element of the stitch pattern reflects this unpredictability, playing with stitch count and stitch length and angle; using a variegated yarn further enhances the unpredictability of this stitch element.

This sock pattern features a toe-up construction, a German short-row heel turn, a generous gusset, and a simple and decorative heel flap.

Small 18 cm/7 ins Medium 20 cm/8 ins Large 23 cm/9 ins Extra Large 25.5 cm /10 ins

Gauge
32 stitches x 48 rows over 10 cm (4 in) in stocking (stockinette) stitch, knitted in the round using 2.25 mm (US size 1.0, UK size 13) needles.

Yarn
Approximately 405 m/445 yds of 4 ply/fingering weight sock yarn that knits to match the required tension gauge. This is equivalent to approximately 100 g of yarn, with the label specifying 445 m/405 yds per 100 g.

The sample Tracks of our Lives socks were knitted with Manos Del Uruguay Allegria 4-ply in the shade A8016 Botanica.

Needles
A pair of 2.25 mm (US size 1, UK size 13) 61 cm/24 in circular needles. Optional 2.5 mm (US size 1.5, UK size 12) circular needles for the cuff.

Notions
Tapestry/darning needle.
Blocking materials (optional).
