Tractor Pulling Stars is a knit top down, yoke-raglan hybrid sweater that any farm boy (or girl!) will love.

To Fit Chest Width: 53 cm/ 20.9 in (56 cm/ 22 in) 58.5 cm / 23 in (60.5 cm/ 23.8 in) 63.5 cm/ 25 in (66 cm/ 26 in) pattern is designed to fit with about 8.5 cm / 3.5 in positive ease

The yoke-raglan hybrid is a design that tends to fit a bit better than a fully yoked shoulder, yet still allows for the beautiful yoked motifs that we all enjoy so much.

This pattern gives easy to follow charts for all colourwork, indicating where all increases should be made. Non colourwork rounds give clear instructions for increasing and stitch counts are included at each increase.

The tractor yoke has 8 tractors in all sizes. As the size goes up, more stitches are knit in between the tractors so they will look more spread out. After the yoke there is a divide for finishing with raglan sleeves. This is clearly described so no guessing on what to do here. The sleeves are put on hold while the body is finished, then the sleeves are taken back up and tapered down to the wrist.

This sweater can be knit with two strands held together for the remainder of the sweater after the yoke if desired. This is not mentioned in the pattern, but is only a suggestion. This will make a nice and warm fabric that has an even thickness over the whole sweater. It will become your childs new favourite, as it has become for my son!

Skills required for this pattern are: knit, purl, m1L, m1R, k2tog, picking up stitches, Knitting in the round, stranded colourwork, reading a colourwork graph. Skill level is Intermediate.

It is recommended that some technique is used to catch longer floats in the yoke as these can get snagged on the inside. A good youtube video can be found here:
