This is a simple beanie hat design worked on two needles with a tractor motif placed evenly around the hat. There are written instructions and a chart to follow for each size and suggestions in the pattern for how to knit the motifs. I knit these hats in 100% cotton (sport weight) for warmer weather and double knitting weight (8 ply) wool or wool mix for colder times of the year. The motifs make a plain beanie look jolly and different. Changing the colour combinations is part of the fun.

The XS (extra small) size fits a 3-6 to 9-12 months baby, the S(small) fits a 9-12 to 18-24 months toddler, the M (medium) size fits approximately 18-24 months up. The sizes are approximate because I’ve found that babies’ and toddlers’ head sizes can vary considerably.

The hat circumferences are XS - 40cm; S - 45cm; M - 50cm.

For the XS size you will need a total amount of yarn of approx. 35g, for the S size approx. 45g and for the medium approx. 55g.
