Traditional Channel Island Guernsey
Description from Book:
The best known Guernsey is that from the Channel Islands, recognisable by its side slits, diagonal gusset and insets of garter stitch and double rib. Traditionally, the main part is knitted in the round, but here the pattern has been adapted for two needles, with the ribbed neckband on four needles. However, a note is given on how to work the Guernsey in the round, if this is desired. The sleeves are worked separately, as is traditional with the Channel Island Guernsey.
The pattern is in 12 sizes, to fit 56 cm(22 inch) to 112 cm(44 inch) bust or chest. The Guernsey is knitted in traditional navy 5-ply worsted wool, which is manufactured especially for Guernsey sweaters.
NOTE: According to the book EMU can be substituted for the Poppleton Guernsey wool
