Introducing the Trail Blazer Beanie Knitting Pattern! This pattern was made in collaboration with Trail Blaz-Her Magazine (Fall 2024) publication. This lovely beanie is a delight to knit and is suitable for beginner knitters. It features 1x1 ribbed, 4” folded brim and is knit bottom up, in the round and finishes with crown shaping. It’s simple construction make it a quick and easy gift to knit.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

SUGGESTED NEEDLE(S)

Needles: 3.5 mm US4 / 40 cm 16 inches circular needle and 4.5 mm US7 double-pointed needles, or the required needles to obtain gauge. (I used a 7” /17.5 cm cable and 2”/ 5 cm long needles for crown shaping.) Or you can use DPNs. Designer note: I am a relaxed/loose knitter, so chances are you will need to go up a needle size or two.

FINISHED SIZE:
Fits most adults (20.5”/ 52 cm)

GAUGE (4X4”):
16 stitches x 22 rows on 4.5 mm US7 needles = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches

YARN:
Lion Brand Wool-Ease Worsted Weight in Wheat, One Skein 85 gr/180 m
