Vests are one of the most versatile pieces of any wardrobe, and in almost any climate. We all know the value in layering and with little ones and their fluctuating temperatures, it’s so nice to have a simple handknit to layer with. My son Coltrane, has a particular affinity for vests, easy on, easy off. I designed this piece while on one of our long road trips to our ranch in Idaho and my hope was to highlight the texture and body of small farm yarns, while incorporating a rustic feel with the exposed seams and reverse stockinette fabric. There’s a great satisfaction and joy in quick knits, especially those with a purpose…and my hope is that you find the same joy as you knit this vest. -Ashley

2 2, 2, 2, 2, 3 skeins in Marled Jacob (black and white sample shown) or, 2 2, 2, 3, 3, 4 skeins in Alpaca/CVM (brown sample shown) or,
145 160, 180, 200, 220, 290 yds in DK weight yarn.
