Transhumance
To me, machine knitting is about the freedom to make sizable statement pieces that I would find too intimidating to undertake by hand as they would take forever!
Inspired by my first experiments with my brand new LK150, I wanted to create a beginner’s design that would cover all the bases, suggest tricks and help avoid all the mistakes that I made when I started.
Transhumance provides enough drama and variety for a fun machine knitting experience and a spectacular finished object.
Of course this pattern is hand-knitter friendly!
The original pattern includes specific instructions and chart for hand-knitters, but a strictly hand-knit version is also available for download.
To make Transhumance, you will need 5 full skeins of fingering weight yarn with some drape. You can opt for a gradient as shown in the sample but any combination of colors would work beautifully.
A lot of care has gone into the pattern layout but a second Pdf is provided in case you’d rather print instructions without pictures.
