Let’s knit a Fluffy Vest together for free !

This sleeveless cardigan has a distinctive “shepperd” look and stands out with its icord contrasting edge. It has been especially designed for beginner knitters but not only.

It is worked flat from bottom to top for the main part. When the fronts and the back are sewn together, the outter edges for the body and arms are picked up and worked in double stockinette.

The finished cardigan is 50cm/19.7in high by 70cm/27.6in wide.
Intructions are provided for only one size which is the equivalent of an M/L size.

For the pictured model, I used boucle alpaca for the body and two strands of alpaca held together for the edges. The point for me was to make it really cozy while keeping a real structured fit which is provided by those thick edges. You can choose to subtitute with any type of aran yarn.

To knit it, you’ll just need a set of circular 5mm/US8 and 4,5mm/US7 needles.

As the needles are quite big, this project is a pretty fast one yet the final result is really cool and comfy.

The instructions exist both in french and english.

In addition, I made a step by step video tutorial to help you make the icord edges. It’s on my YouTube channel:
