This sock features alternate panels of a simple zig-zag lace (ice and snow) and a two over two cable (barriers to leaving the unit). The sock has a cuff down construction with eye of partridge heel flap, round heel and standard toe closed with Kitchener stitch.

The directions are written for 5 double pointed needles (4 holding stitches, and 1 active needles) and does require some rearrangement of stitches. If you are comfortable with magic loop or two circulars, go ahead. You might want to note the adjustments. The pattern is charted with written directions at the end.

The pattern is written for 64 stitches (circumference of 8 inches) but may be easily modified for 56 or 72 stitches by decreasing or increasing the number of purl stitches bordering the cable section.. The foot length can be adjusted (written for about a 9 inch sock - women’s medium)

I used size US 1 (2.25m) needles and a 100-gram skein of sock yarn
