Travel Pillow
Skill level: Easy
Finally a comfortable travel pillow for those long road trips we all take.
After trying everything to keep my daughter’s head out of her stomach when sleeping on road trips, I finally decided to make something myself and this travel pillow is what I came up with. Made with only 1 skein of 100% cotton yarn (Bernat Cottontots) this pillow is soft and cool on the skin, and cheap to make.
The pillow has three straps to attach to a shoulder seat belt to keep it from falling down once you (yes it can be used for adults) or your little one falls asleep. The contoured “chin catcher” helps keep your head from falling forward and the long length lets you hold on to it (finally something to do with your arms when sleeping in the car).
This pillow is intended for children over 3 years old due to the buttons and is meant to be used with the shoulder strap of your car (booster seats and up).
Yarn Recommended
Approx. 160 yards Bernat Cottontots in Sweet Cream (90007)
100g/171 yds per skein
Substitute with any medium worsted weight yarn.
Hook Recommended
5 mm US-H
The pillow pattern is in .pdf format so you will need Adobe Reader to open the document and print it.
Just a quick reminder, this is my original design and this pattern is not to be copied and reproduced for monetary purposes, I’d love if you made as many as you liked for yourself or to give as gifts, or even sell for profit (see shop policies for more info on this), but please do not make copies of the pattern. Thanks!
