Traveling Along Scarf
Sometimes while laying out a new pattern, sitting down to start the actual knitting of a piece, playing with how the different stitches fit, lay and look together, I find myself constantly amazed at how a few basic, simple stitches placed in the right order can create such an interesting design. Such is the case with this one. Not only interesting in the movement and texture of the pattern but also how swift the piece “travels along”.
Size #8 needles, 12 stitch, 24 row repeat, 530 - 560 yds. DK weight yarn (could easily be a worsted weight) lends to the ease of knitting and memorizing the pattern. Very easy to widen by just repeating the 12 st. pattern. “Traveling Along” is knit is 2 sections and joined with the Kitchner stitch.
Other materials needed include 2 stitch markers, 1 stitch holder and a tapestry needle.
The pattern is both row by row written and charted instructions.
