Traveling Rib Scarf
This scarf is a quick, fun knit. It has the lovely stretchiness of ribbed fabric, but the traveling rib makes it a little more fun to knit. I never found the pattern monotonous.
The gauge listed on this pattern is a recommendation; gauge is only critical for getting a fabric that drapes the way you want it to drape. If your gauge is significantly different than what is listed here, you may need more (or less) yarn. If in doubt, you might want a second skein!
I am a short person (5’ 2”) and knit scarves that are a good length and width for me. If you prefer a wider and / or longer scarf, you will need a second skein of yarn. I used every inch of the skein to knit my scarf!
I recommend marking the right side of the fabric on this project while you work. Even if you can read your knitting well, the fabric is reversible and instructions appear to repeat, but are worked on the opposite side, making it difficult to tell exactly where you are in the pattern. You can use a locking stitch marker or tie a piece of yarn to the front.
