I always travel with a shawl of some kind, soft, squishy and versatile, wrap it, fold it or spread it out – it makes a great layer to sleep on or under when travelling. It can be my pillow or an extra cover in any chilly location – I find ferries are always cold!

I’ve been wanting a new one for a while. And I wanted it to be reversible.

So here is my new travelling stole, cables and lace, squishy, long, and completely reversible.

Design Options for the Shawl
Because this is a repeating pattern the shawl could easily be changed to become wider or narrower by the simple action of adding or subtracting the 25 st pattern repeat.
For the same reasons the shawl/scarf could easily be made longer or shorter depending on the amount of 16 row pattern repeats knit.

Bonus Hat
The stole is easily squishable to wear as a scarf so I added a bonus hat, or it could be easily changed to a slouchy, in the same stitch pattern.
