This cowl is a popular shop sample at Beehive and is available in the store with yarn purchase. It comes in two versions, a wide single-loop cowl and a narrower double-loop cowl. Both versions are knit in the round and only take one skein each of the suggested yarns.

The pattern includes instructions for the alternate cable cast-on and a modified tubular cast-off (or two-needle grafted edge).

For the Short Version
You will need one skein of Hikoo Simplinatural and a 40cm (16”) 6mm (U.S. 10) circular needle.

For the Long Version
You will need one skein of Naturally Drift 10 Ply and an 80cm (32”) 5.5mm (U.S. 9) circular needle.

Both versions require a spare needle the same size as the main needle for the cast-off, a tapestry needle for weaving in the ends, and a stitch marker.

The gauge for both versions is 18 stitches and 24 rows over 10cm/4” in stocking stitch. Naturally, you should use a needle that will get you this gauge or be comfortable with the possibility of a denser/looser, smaller/bigger cowl.
