Materials
Yarn: 5 x 20g/80m skeins in 4ply/fingering weight, or 100g skein
The shawls featured in this pattern are knitted with yarn from Colours of Norfolk ™ by Aviva Leigh, available at:
www.avivaleigh.com

Measurements:150cm along longest side, 50cm across widest point.

Needles: 3.5mm (US 4).

This shawl is designed using a traditional asymmetric triangular construction. This is achieved by increasing and decreasing stitches at the beginning and end of rows. The breaking wave, sea surf effect is created by using double yarn over, knit two together stitches.

The project is ideal for mini skein sets. Or your own colour combination of 20g skeins. Treacherous Tides is inspired by the wild and varied coastline of North Norfolk in the UK. A county bordered by the sometimes-treacherous North Sea.

The pattern provides a basic framework for knitting the shawl, while including options to accommodate individual knitters needs - which, like the tides, can be more unpredictable.

However, the main direction for navigation to remember is: increase at the beginning of each right-side row and, decease at the end of the row. And if you need to call for assistance – there is an email address on the pattern, or email via the Ravelery messaging service.
