Treasure Island Shawl
This shawl is the perfect crochet pattern to use up that one special big skein of fingering weight yarn that has been languishing in your stash, or use dk or worsted weight yarn to create an extra snuggly version!
I live close to Treasure Island Beach in Florida, and spend hours there each week in the summer. This shawl is inspired by those beachy moments. If made in fingering weight yarn, this shawl is light enough to wear in the Florida heat all year round!
To create a lacy effect, use fingering weight yarn. The same hook size (I - 5.5 mm) is used for all weights of yarn from fingering to worsted. The heavier the weight of yarn, the larger your shawl will be! If you are a loose crocheter, you may need more yardage than specified in this pattern.
I have made two versions - a fingering weight shawl using Wonderland Yarns Cheshire Cat, in the color way “Pigments of Imagination” (512 yards to 4 ounces, 100% merino wool), and a worsted weight shawl using Caron Simply Soft, in the color way “Soft Green” (100% acrylic).
