Treasured
Designed to use up and showcase all those treasured oddments of yarn that are too small for their own project but too precious to be thrown away.
The gems are part stranded / part intarsia. They could all be the same colour, or they could be different to each other, both in form and colour.
I have chosen neon for my gems, but any yarn with a good contrast to the background will look great.
SIZING
Written instructions given for five size options (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
This is a modular design for you to personalise and play with. Chart given is for 1x “ gem segment”.
The gem segment can be knitted on its own or repeated 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x times.
I-CORD EDGE
All sizes have an i-cord border which adds 3 stitches at either side to the stitch count.
The i-cord edge gives a nice finish and adds weight to the bottom edge helping it sit flat, but also it provides options for placing necklace findings when finished.
YARN
Between 3 and 12 colours of fine fingering weight yarn / 4 ply (20 wpi)
Allow 4m (157”) of MC; 1/2m (20”) length of GC for each gem and 1m (40”) per stripe
