The defining feature of this pullover is the oversized cable forming the yoke; “Treccione” means “big cable” in Italian. The rest of the pullover is clean and classic, worked in stockinette stitch with gentle waist shaping, bottom hem that sits about 2 inches above the widest part of the hips, ¾ length sleeves (which can be easily lengthened to full length if desired), and simple rolled edges.

Yarn: Dream in Color Classy with Cashmere, 70% superwash merino wool/20% cashmere/10% nylon, 200 yd (184 m)/4 oz (113 g) skein, #37 Magic Orchid, 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8) skeins.

Needles: US size 7/4.5 mm: set of 5 double-pointed (dpn) for sleeves, straight or 16-20” circular (cir) for cabled yoke, and 24-40” cir for body depending on chosen garment size. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); removable m; waste yarn for duplicate stitch grafting of cabled yoke (should be similar weight and contrasting color to main yarn); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.

Gauge: 19 sts/28 rows to 4”/10 cm in stockinette st. Measure gauge on blocked swatch.

Notes
Cabled yoke is worked flat, using short rows to create a curved shape, and then ends are grafted, using the duplicate stitch method (written instructions and link to video tutorial are included in the pattern). Stitches are picked up from the bottom edge of the cable yoke, and the remainder of the yoke, body and sleeves are worked down in the round. Cable instructions are give in written form only.
