Welcome to Stacey Namaste Designs. This shawl is part of my Knitting for Healing series. Trauma can be defined as “Anything that overwhelms our capacity to cope and leaves us feeling hopeless and helpless,” ~Seane Corn, Yogi and Author. This series was inspired in order to provide choice and control for the maker in size, color scheme, design, and patterning. I hope you have fun, and every time you sit to knit this pattern, you can create a new design of your choosing.

This triangle shawl is designed to provide the maker agency, choice, and variation - you can use any yarn, any size, any color scheme. When worn, it does not need to be worn as a shawl - it can be worn as a scarf. The acrylic/polyester blend yarn I chose creates a light and airy garment. This design, Tree Pose, features designs of tree components including seed, trunk, branch, and leaf stitch designs. You can knit them in any order and in any length. Symbolically, seeds represent possibility, the trunk represents strength, branches represent family and friends, and leaves represent the cycle of rebirth and renewal. You may dwell on a certain symbol during your knitting as an area of mindfulness and focus.

Example is in Universe by Hobbii (Fingering) in color 11, needle size 4. Universe is sustainable, 98% premium acrylic and 2% polyester, 100g skeins (505 yards each). Example uses 1 ½ skeins of a color gradient yarn, which may not show the unique patterns as well as a solid yarn, but the colors reminded me of Autumn leaves.
