Tree Ring Tee is a relaxed-fit, top down raglan pullover with single row stripes. Helical knitting is used after sleeve separation to provide a more seamless color transition. Simple short rows are used to shape the back neck. This pattern is ideal for adventurous beginners ready to tackle a fingering weight sweater with light colorwork, or for those with tons of fingering skeins in stash.

The main purpose of Tree Ring is to “blend” two yarns of different bases and colors with alternating rows to create a whole new fabric. “Base-blending” is a great way to use stash yarn that you never thought to use together before!

Suggested yarn:
Most fingering weight yarn will work, maybe even some lace and sport paired with fingering. Wool and acrylic are best, but plant fibers like cotton and linen may work if you choose a size with plenty of positive ease.

My favorite combination of bases to blend is a good, sturdy sock yarn alternated with a soft single ply. As long as you get gauge, go crazy!
