Trees for Christmas
This is a stuffed tree that I like to put a star on to dress it up for Christmas. But it’s just as nice without one; I knit one to keep my gnome company.
It begins with a garter stitch triangle for the base, then stitches are picked up around the edges and the tree is knit in the round. You could easily sew a weight onto the inside of the base but the tree stands up well without it.
There is no specified gauge for this pattern; make it as big or small as you like on needles that work for the chosen yarns.
Generally, I use a brown for the base and some sort of green for the tree but make it whatever colour you like!
There are no instructions for the star because it is not my design. I used Alan Dart’s star from his Furry Fairy Pattern, but a button or bead would be just as nice.
Use up your stash yarn odds and ends!
