This pattern has photo tutorial instructions to make both styles of these necklaces highlighting little trefoil bead clusters - a fully beaded version as well as a mini version. Fun to make and cute to wear. So many variations are possible once you master the basics.

Materials needed:

Approx. 12 yards of regular .5mm C-Lon nylon cord 6 yards for mini version)
+/- 51 of 3mm round beads 12 for mini version - adjustable
+/- 150 of 4mm round beads 33 for mini version - adjustable
2 – 11o seed beads
1 – 10 – 12 mm shank style button (or 10mm bead)

Tools needed:

Collapsible eye beading needle
Tapestry needle (Size 20)
Scissors
Size 7 steel crochet hook (1.5 mm)
E6000, fray check or other clear drying glue

Skill level - intermediate

While substitutions can be made and are encouraged, the first necklace pictured was made with 3 and 4 mm platinum colored Swarovski pearls and antique brown C-Lon cord and the mini version (picture 2) was made with 3 and 4 mm cream colored Swarovski pearls. The third picture shows a necklace made with 3mm faceted round Czech glass beads and 4mm smooth round Czech glass beads and antique brown C-Lon cord - beaded section was adjusted to be a slightly longer length.

A talented crocheter and jewelry maker, Stacey Leighty (sleighty), graciously offered to test my pattern for me. Stacey used size 8o and 6o seed beads and the result was beautiful. Please see her necklace design in the last three pictures. Due to the fact that the beads she used are a bit smaller and slightly differently shaped, her necklace required 61 8os and 180 6os.

Steel crochet hook – Size 7 or 1.5 mm
1 – collapsible large eye beading needle
Scissors
E6000 or similar glue
Tapestry Needle, Size 20 (pointed) or slightly larger
Beading mat, beading tray or towel
