With crisp lace border and garter stitch body, Treillage is an entertaining knit. The shawl begins from one tip and is worked diagonally to a slightly asymmetric triangle.

The beautiful lace panel runs along one side of the shawl, creating a wide border. It features vertical lace trellis resembling vines reaching towards the light.

You begin knitting the lace panel with just a few stitches, increasing to its full width. Then you begin growing the garter stitch body while the width of the lace panel stays the same.

The lace is worked on the right side only, and there’s no purling. Treillage is fully reversible and looks beautiful on both sides of the shawl.

YARN
2 skeins of La Bien Aimée Merino Singles (100% merino; 366 m / 400 yds per 100 g). Shown in colour Quail.

Or approximately 688 m / 753 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.

You can easily adjust the size by making fewer or extra pattern repeats depending on how much yarn you have, and/or how big you like your shawls.

NEEDLES
Size 4 mm / US 6 needles or size to obtain pattern gauge

This shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using 80-100 cm / 32-40 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
