The Trellis Beanie and Cowl are a fun duo to knit with bulky/aran yarn! They will work up relatively quickly with the thicker yarn. They will keep you super warm or make a wonderful gift for the colder weather! This set is a great intermediate knitter’s pattern. The crossed-loops pattern is done in a multiple of 12 stitches over 16 rounds. It will teach you how to do simple 2-stitch cables to create the trellis effect. It’s not as difficult as it looks to get this pattern to work in the round. There are instructional videos to help you with that part!

There are two sizes for the hat with alternative yarns listed. There is one size for the cowl, but you will have the choice to make the cowl longer by repeating the 16-round pattern or changing the number of rib rounds that you complete at the lower and upper edges.. Alternatively, you can make the cowl wider or skinnier by increasing or decreasing the stitch count by multiples of 12 that you cast on. Please keep in mind that changes to the pattern may result in a different yardage/meterage of yarn than stated.
