This pattern includes instructions for two different weights of yarn: Aran and Light DK.

The Aran cowl is worked from the top down, and has a simple ribbed edging along the bottom that causes it to flare slightly, and rest gently against your shoulders.

The Light DK cowl is knit from the bottom up, and has a welt along the bottom edge to give it a little more structure since it’s a lighter weight yarn. It also has an i-cord edge to finish the top.

They are both worked in the round, and have a smooth, jogless pattern that encircles the neck.

The design is a Bavarian cable design, which can be knit with or without cable needles, since it is a single stitch cross-over. There are several excellent how-to videos on youtube about how to knit cross-overs.

The stitch pattern is charted only, and does not include row-by-row instructions.
