Trellis Garden Headband
The Trellis Garden Crochet Flower Headband is vibrant, warm, snug. It would make a great fun gift for any adventurous girl in your life.
The headband pattern is inspired by the vibrant and colourful headgear of flowers of the Drokpa community of Ladakh region in the Himalayas.
Base is made in a combination of sc, dc and a trellis like stitch pattern. Attach as many crochet flowers and leaves as you like, the more, the merrier.

Gauge: 12 sts * 6 rows of dc = 4” and 12 sts * 11 rows of sc = 4”
WPI: 9
Yardage: 50 gms = 50 meters
Yarn type: weight 5 yarn- for base headband
For flowers and leaves: weight 2 or 3 yarn in different colours of your choice.
Materials needed:
Hook: 6mm and 4mm and 6.5mm (optional) for 1st round.
Tapestry needle, a pair of scissors, stitch markers.
Amount of yarn:
I have used a slightly heavy yarn. Depending on yarn you use, you may need lesser amount of yarn in weight.
For Headband base (here in red)

1-6 months: 35/ 1.225 = 35 / 38
6-12 months: 37/ 1.295 = 37 / 40
1-3 years: 40/ 1.4 = 40 / 44
3-5 years: 57/ 1.995 = 57 / 62
6-10 years: 60/ 2.1 = 60 / 66
adult small: 63/ 2.2 = 63 / 69
adult medium: 67/ 2.35 = 67 / 73
adult large: 73/ 2.56 = 73 / 80
For flowers and leaves: 10-15 gms for flowers n leaves. 1-1.5 gms per flower. If you have any leftover yarn from other projects, you can use it here.
