This pattern is for an infant toddler size, which can be increased either by increasing needle size or increasing by 6 stitch increments.

It is part of a Mother and Child Spring/Summer Collection, with separate patterns for each hat in the series.

The lime green background color, contrasted by the cream foreground, conjures an inviting English garden motif.
While, the bold black and cream brim on each hat adds a playful touch, inspired by Alice’s adventures in Wonderland!

The color-work in this pattern makes use of slip stitch techniques to create both the striped and checkered brim motifs as well as the effect of a delicate trellis overlay. Using these deceptively easy techniques, the knitting is done with only one color at a time.

Each hat pattern is designed to be slightly more advanced in skill level, allowing the knitter to confidently build new skills while progressing through the completion of the entire series.
